This Sunday was an incredible time to be in Downtown Milwaukee. The fog was haunting, silencing, and blanketed the city in a veiled guise. I needed to get out of the house, so I decided to take Cash for a walk by the lakefront. Once I arrived closer to my destination, I realized what an opportunity the fog was presenting for shooting. I was glad that I decided to go out.
The skyline faded in and out of view. What I saw completely changed depending on how close I was to the destination. At certain times, I couldn't see buildings at all and then they would appear as faded ghosts hovering in the sky.
There was a contrast between nature and concrete. Staying on the lower section of sidewalk, near the lakefront, I felt more surrounded by nature. But, as I climbed high towards Prospect Ave that all diminished and was replaced with the echo of silence off of historic buildings. It was a much needed walk. The silence of a city can be surprising, an overwhelming sigh of quiet that beams off of all the tall walls around you.
